Lawful Basis for Processing Personal Data

For the purposes of the GDPR, we are the Data Processor when selling on and processes all personal data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner. Under Article 6 of the GDPR, the lawful basis on which we process personal data received from is that of “Contract” - whereby processing is necessary in order to fulfil buyer orders and enquiries. We retain information provided by, such as transaction information for internal financial accounting purposes. It is a legal requirement to retain this information for a period of 7 years.

Data We Receive: Personally Identifiable Information

We receive personally identifiable information from voluntarily submitted by buyers when placing an online order. The data we receive includes: name, billing address, delivery name, delivery address, e-mail address (in encrypted format), telephone number, date of order, items ordered, value of items ordered, chosen method of delivery. We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information to any third party for any purpose.

How we use buyers’ personal information

We may use any personal buyer information provided by you to to:

  • Process and dispatch buyers’ order/s
  • Carry out regulatory checks to meet our legal obligations
  • Prevent and detect crime
  • Develop and improve our products
  • Undertake anonymised statistical analysis (we won’t be able to identify individuals from this data)

We treat all information we hold about buyers as private and confidential. We will not reveal any personal details or details concerning buyers’ orders to anyone not connected with us, unless:

  • A buyer asks us to reveal the information, or we have a buyer’s permission to do so
  • We are required or permitted to do so by law
  • It is required by law enforcement, fraud prevention or credit reference agencies

We may share buyer personal information with our suppliers, service providers and other contractors only to fulfil orders buyers place with us on

Data Subject Access Requests

Under the GDPR buyers are entitled to obtain from us (the Data Processor for the purposes of the GDPR when selling on a copy of the data held concerning them and to have any inaccuracies in the data rectified. We are obliged to provide this data to within 1 calendar month of the request and free of charge. However, we have the right to refuse or charge for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive and repetitive.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on the 'Basket' icon and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.




We accept credit card payment via PayPal. You do NOT need a PayPal account. PayPal will process your payment securely. Refer to for further information.

PayPal accept most major credit/debit cards.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added.

Shipping & Handling

All of our products are shipped via either Royal Mail or MyHermes. During the handling (packing) process, the most appropriate shipping method is chosen based on the size and weight of the product.

We aim to process your order within 7-10 working days.

Please note that, at present, delivery charges or the lack thereof have been based on a standard UK mainland delivery charge. Certain areas such as the Scottish Highlands fall outside standard charging. If you suspect you may fall into such an area please contact us for a quotation on delivery. We reserve the right to decline an order placed falling into these areas where a customer does not accept higher delivery charges .

On Trade Winds (The Garden Bench Company Ltd) is not held responsible for any industrial action/bad weather conditions that occur whilst your order is in transit.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
